The extensive research conducted to develop The PROFILOR® resulted in an underlying architecture of superfactors, competencies, and behaviors known to be important to success as a leader. The superfactors are the four broad areas under which the competencies are grouped including:  

  • Thought Leadership  
  • People Leadership  
  • Results Leadership  
  • Personal Leadership

As a leader moves from level to level, the titles of the competencies and how they are defined behaviorally may change, with the leadership 360 content reflecting these changes.

Global Norms and Validation Research

In 2024, we conducted an extensive validation study and updated The PROFILOR® Technical Manual. We also updated our global norms for our standard 360s:

  • The PROFILOR® for Business Unit Leaders
  • The PROFILOR® for Mid-Level Leaders
  • The PROFILOR® for First-Level Leaders 
  • The PROFILOR® for Individual Contributors

Research Collaboration

We have an ongoing research collaboration with The University of Minnesota. They conduct our validation research with us to ensure there is no bias that can come from strictly internal research. We also provide anonymous data for their Ph.D. candidates to complete their own research investigations, which they share with us.  

 In addition, we get many research and product evolution ideas from our clients. We love to seek ongoing feedback from clients and find out how we can evolve to help them evolve with how they are using assessments for leadership development.
